March 23rd? Ignorance promises evil

Ignorance guarantees evil

Verse of the day: Seen as, by his divine power, we have received all the things that lead to life and piety, by the complete knowledge of the One who called us to his own glory and virtue (2 Peter 1. 3).

I am amazed at the power that the Bible gives to knowledge

Consider 2 Peter 1. 3:? By the divine power [of God]? Have all the things that lead to life and godliness been given, for the full knowledge of the One who called us to his own glory and virtue?

Literally, all the divine power we have to live and be pious comes through knowledge! What a reward we should give to the doctrine and teaching of the scriptures!Life and mercy are at stake.

It’s not that knowledge guarantees mercy. No, however, ignorance seems to guarantee ungodliness. Because, Peter says, the divine power that leads to mercy is given by the knowledge of God.

Here are three implications, a warning and a promise

Warning: “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge? (Osseas 4. 6). Do you have zeal for God, but not with understanding? (Romans 10. 2).

Promise: “And he shall never teach his neighbour, nor each one his brother, saying, Know the Lord, for they shall all know me, from the smallest to the greatest. Because for your iniquities, I will use mercy and will, I never remember your sins?(Hebrews 8: 11-12).
