March 15th? Daily devotion CHARLES SPURGEON

Verse of the day: “Strengthen in the grace that is in Jesus Christ” (2 Timothy 2. 1).

Christ, in himself, has grace without measure, but he did not keep it only for himself: just as the reservoir emptied all its water through pipes, so Christ emptied himself of grace for his people. “Why have we all received his fullness and grace upon grace? (John 1,16). It seems that he has the grace to give them to us. Like a tree, it produces sweet fruit for the needy to harvest. His grace is always available and free. Just as the blood in the body, although it flows from the heart, also belongs to each member, so the influences of grace are the inheritance of every saint united to the Lamb. In this sense, there is a sweet communion between Christ and his Church, for they both experience the same grace. This is true communion: when the sap of grace flows from the trunk to the branch and when we realize that the trunk itself is supported by the food that nourishes the branch. As we receive the grace of Jesus and recognize more consistently that it comes from him, we will see him in fellowship with us and enjoy the joy of that fellowship with him. Let’s do this with as much courage as those who take money out of their wallets.
