Let’s ado the lamb
Verse of the day: I cried a lot, for no one was worthy to open the book, not even to look at it (Revelation 5. 4).
- Have you ever thought of your prayers as the smell of paradise?Holy Week attracted me again to read Revelation 4 and 5.
- Here’s a look at life in heaven.
In Revelation 5, we see the Almighty God on the throne with a book in his hand, the book had seven seals. Everyone had to be deleted before the book opened.
I think the opening of the book represents the last days of history and the removal of the seven stamps represents the kind of story we will experience as we approach these days.
At first, Joo wept because there was no one worthy to open the book or look at it (5. 4). But then the old man in heaven said, “Don’t cry; Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the root of David, did he win to open the book and its seven seals?(5,5).
By dying on the cross, Jesus obtained the right to open the rest of the redemptive history and lead his people victoriously through it.
In the next verse, the Lion is portrayed as a Lamb,?Stand up? (5,6) Isn’t this a beautiful image of Jesus’ victory on the cross?
Is it also true that a lion had devoured the enemy?But the way he won was by letting the enemy kill him like a lamb!
Therefore, now the Lamb is worthy to take the book of redemptive history by the hand of God and open it; it is such an act worthy of a king that the twenty-four elders of heaven (God’s counsel of worship, so to speak) prostrate thee before the Lamb in worship.
And you know what gold cups full of incense are?Verse 8 says that these are “the prayers of the saints. “Doesn’t that mean that our prayers are the scent of heaven, a pleasant scent before the throne of God and the Lamb??
I feel strengthened and encouraged to pray more often and more vigorously when I think that my prayers are gathered together and stored in heaven, and offered to Christ repeatedly in acts of celestial worship.
Bless, honor, and worship Christ here on earth with our prayers, and then double rejoice that the Council of Worship in Heaven offers them again to Christ as a pleasant scent of incense before the Lamb who has been killed.
