In 2015, the Faithful Conference will address the important theme of renewal, one of those themes that belong to the gallery of the highest themes of the Christian faith, because it is an action on the part of God, the Holy Spirit, unusual and special, of spiritual renewal and vitality in the experience of God’s people; it is also an issue that has caused a lot of confusion; many confuse awakening with the intensity of emotion in worship, dramatic experiences of conversion, physical manifestations, etc. many other things that, while may be the result of a true experience of Christian spirituality, do not represent the marks of a true awakening.
As can be seen in the scriptures and in the history of the Church, awakening is a free and sovereign act of the Spirit of God, acting when and how he wants, provoking in the Christian a very strong feeling of his own sin, presence, sovereign majesty, glorious, the most holy, the most beautiful and the most terrible of God. God’s fear intensifies in the community, and the result of awakening is life, light, and warmth.
