Verse of the day: I told them: Apply your heart to all the words that I have with you today, so that you can order your children to be careful to keep all the words of this law; because this word is not for you an empty thing, but your life; and with that same word you will prolong your days in the land of which you will possess it in the Jordan (Deuteronomy 32: 46-47).
The word of God is not a trifle; it’s a matter of life and death. If you consider the scriptures to be insignificant or empty words, you lose your life.
- Even our physical life depends on the word of God.
- For by his word we were created (Psalm 33.
- 6; Hebrews 11.
- 3).
- And he holds all things with the word of his power?(Hebrews 1.
- 3).
Our spiritual life begins with the word of God: “According to his will, did he beget us by the word of truth?(James 1:18). Have you been regenerated by the word of God, who lives and is permanent?(1 Peter 1:23).
Not only are we beginning to live by the word of God, but we also continue to live by the word of God: “Will man live not only with bread, but from every word that comes out of God’s mouth?(Matthew 4. 4; Deuteronomy 8. 3).
Our physical life is created and sustained by the word of God, and our spiritual life is strengthened and nourished by the word of God. How many stories could come together to testify of the invigorating power of God’s Word!
In fact, isn’t the Bible a vain word for you?It’s your life! The basis of all joy is life, nothing is more fundamental than pure existence?our creation and our conservation.
All this is due to the word of God’s power. By this same power he spoke in the scriptures for the creation and sustenance of our spiritual life. So the Bible isn’t an empty word, but is it really your life?Awaken your joy!
