Verse of the day: The Lord heard my call; The Lord welcomes my prayer (Psalm 6,9).
I myself have appreciated the experience recounted in this verse, and I can prove that God is truthful. In many wonderful ways, he answered his servant’s prayer over and over again. Yes, God hears my request now; Don’t take my ears away, bless your name!
- What’s the implication? However.
- This promise.
- Which has remained firm in the Psalmist’s firm confidence.
- Is also mine; I must appropriate it with the hands of faith: “The Lord has heard my call.
- ” He will accept it.
- Examine it.
- And grant it in time and in the way that his good wisdom believes will be better.
- In my hands I carry my poor prayer to the great King; He gives me a hearing and kindly receives my request; my enemies do not listen to me.
- But the Lord does; they mock my prayers with tears.
- But the Lord does not despise them; He listens to them with his ears.
- And keeps them in his heart.
What a wonderful reception for such an insignificant sinner! We receive Jesus and the Lord God receives us, as well as our prayers, for the love of his Son; Blessed be this precious name, which gives access to our prayers, that they may pass freely through the golden gates; Lord, show me to pray, for you hear my prayers.
