June 3rd? Firmness on the ground

Verse of the day: The Lord God is my strength, makes my feet look like those of the deer, and makes me walk high (Habakkuk 3:19).

This trust of God’s man is equivalent to a promise, because faith is convinced of God’s plan. The prophet had to cross the deep valleys of poverty and hunger, but he came down the hill without slipping, because the Lord gave him firmness. Soon Habakkuk was called to the heights of the hills of conflict; however, I was no longer afraid to go up and down those hills.

  • The Lord has given you strength.
  • More than that: the Lord Himself was the strength of Habakkuk.
  • Ponder it: the Almighty God becomes our strength!.

Note: the Lord has also given you firmness in your walk; deer jump over rocks and cliffs without losing their footing; our Lord will grant us the grace to follow the most difficult paths of duty without stumbling; it can adapt our feet to walking on cliffs, so that we feel comfortable in places where, without our Lord, we would perish.

In any of these days, we will be called to even higher places; we will ascend to places beyond, on the mount of God, the high places where the shining creatures gather. Oh, how wonderful are the feet of faith by which, after the morning deer, we will ascend to the mountain of the lord.
