Daily devotion :?Have I passed the glory you gave me?(John 17:22)

Observe the incomparable generosity of the Lord Jesus, because he has given us everything. Although a tenth of his possessions could make millions of angels rich, enriching them beyond what we can imagine, the Lord Jesus was not happy and gave us everything he had. We would have been satisfied if he had allowed us to eat the crumbs of his generosity under the table of his mercy. However, it does nothing by halves. He makes us sit next to him and share the feast. If Jesus had given us only a small supply of his royal treasures, we would have reason enough to love him for all eternity. No, the Lord Jesus wants his wife to be as rich as he is. Christ has neither glory nor virtue that his wife does not share. Jesus was not satisfied with less than to make us joint heirs with him, so that we have equal possessions. He emptied all his possessions into the coffers of the church and has everything in common with his redeemed. He gives his people the keys to every room in his house. The Lord Jesus gives true believers the freedom to take what they have for themselves. He likes that they freely use their treasure and appropriate everything they can carry. The infinite fullness of his sufficiency is, for the believer, as free as the air he breathes. Christ put the gourd of his love and grace on the lips of the believers and commanded them to drink forever. If the believer could dry this canteen, it would be well accepted to do so. But, not being able to exhaust this canteen, Christ ordered him to drink in abundance, because everything belonged to him. Can heaven and earth offer us a more authentic proof of fellowship than this?

  • When he is before the throne.
  • Clothed in thy remarkable beauty; So I see you as you are.
  • And I love you.
  • With an impeccable heart.
  • Then.
  • Totally.
  • O my king.
  • Whatever I should.
  • After all.
  • I will know!.
