Holding on when obeying hurts
Verse of the day: A constant look at the author and consumerist of faith, Jesus, who, in exchange for the joy offered to him, suffered the cross (Hebrews 12:2).
Sometimes what faith does is indescribably difficult
In his book Miracle on the River Kwai, Ernest Gordon tells the true story of a group of prisoners of war who worked on the Burma Railway during World War II.
At the end of each day, the tools were taken from the working group. On one occasion, a Japanese guard shouted that a shovel was missing and demanded to know who had taken it. He began arguing and getting angry, stood up with paranoid fury, and ordered the culprit to report. No one has moved. ” They’ll all die!He screamed as he charged and pointed his gun at the prisoners. At that moment, a man appeared and the guard killed him with the rifle, while he remained silent. When they returned to the camp, the tools were counted again and no shovel was missing.
What can sustain the will to die for others when you are innocent?Jesus was guided and supported by his love for us “in exchange for the joy he offered him”.
Grace means that your objects are not worthy, so I will not say that Jesus put his hope in grace; I will simply say that he trusted the future blessings and joy, and they guided and held him in love through his sufferings.
Every time we follow you on this, what should we do?Is this blessing and joy for us grace?Future grace. As a man, including how to take our cross and follow him on the path of Calvary’s love, Jesus gave himself to his Father (1 Peter 2:23), and placed his hope in the resurrection and in all the joys of returning to his Father and the redemption of his people.
