June 27th? Charles SPURGEON Daily Devotion – 179

Verse of the day 😕 Only when you leave, you won’t go far.

It was a shrewd request from the malevolent tyrant Pharaoh. If poor and servile Israelites are going to leave Egypt, then Pharaoh negotiates with them so they don’t go too far?At least not too far to escape the terror of Pharaoh’s hands and the observation of his spies.

  • Likewise.
  • The world doesn’t like Mavericks ‘dissent or Dissidents’ dissent.
  • The world wants us to be more delicate and not to do our job with a heavy hand.
  • Death to the world and burial with Christ are experiences that carnal spirits despise.
  • The wisdom of the world recommends compromise and speak in moderation.
  • According to carnal politics.
  • Purity is accepted as highly desirable.
  • But we are cautioned not to be too precise in our purity.
  • Truth should be respected.
  • But mistakes should not be harshly pointed out.
  • The world says.
  • “Yes.
  • Be spiritually minded.
  • Yet don’t forget a bit of frivolity.
  • What’s the point of criticizing someone when what they are doing is fashionable and everyone else is doing it too? A multitude of believers submit to this wise counsel.
  • To their own eternal ruin.
  • If we are to follow the Lord completely.
  • We have to go out into the desert of separation and leave Egypt behind the carnal world.
  • We must abandon the maxims.
  • The pleasures and the religiosity of the world.
  • Going very far.
  • Towards the place where the Lord calls his sanctified ones.
  • When the city is on fire.
  • Our house is never too far from the flames.
  • When a plague circulates nearby.
  • A man never strays too far from his fears.
  • The further we are from a viper.
  • The better; and the further from conformity with the world.
  • The better.
  • For all true believers.
  • The voice of the trumpet must sound: “Therefore depart from them.
  • Depart.
  • Says the Lord; do not touch unclean things; and I will receive you (2 Corinthians 6:17).
