Verse of the day: He himself will build the temple of the Lord and will clothe himself with glory (Zechariah 6. 13).
Christ himself is the builder of his spiritual temple. He built it on the mountains of his unchanging love, his omnipotent grace, and his infallible truth. But as with the temple of Solomon, so it is with the spiritual temple of Christ. The material must be prepared. Cedars of Lebanon are not designed for the building. The trees have not yet been cut down, prepared and turned into these cedar planks whose fragrant beauty will brighten the courts of the house of the Lord in Paradise. The rustic stones are still in the quarry; they must be cut and squared. All of this is the work of Christ. Each believer is groomed, polished, and prepared for their place in the temple. But the hands of Christ do the preparatory work. Afflictions cannot sanctify us except when the Lord Jesus uses them for this purpose. Our prayers and efforts cannot prepare us for heaven without the hand of Jesus, who shapes our hearts. In the construction of the temple of Solomon, neither a hammer, nor an ax, nor any iron instrument was heard (see 1 Kings 6. 7), because everything was completely prepared in the exact place it should occupy. . Therefore, it is with the temple that the Lord Jesus builds: the preparation is done entirely on earth. When we get to heaven, there will be no more sanctification; neither will there be preparation through afflictions nor relief through tribulations. Not! We must be prepared here. Christ will do everything in advance. And when it does, we will be carried by a loving hand, through the river of death, and carried to the heavenly Jerusalem to stand as eternal columns in the temple of our Lord.
- Before your eyes and cares.
- The building will be erected.
- Majestic.
- Beautiful and strong.
- Above the skies.
- It will shine.
