June 17th? Daily devotion CHARLES SPURGEON

Verse of the day 😕 Help, lord!? (Psalm 12. 1)

The prayer itself is remarkable because it is brief, but timely, concise and suggestive. David lamented the rarity of faithful men; He therefore raised his voice to God in supplication; when the creature failed, David ran toward the Creator; evidently David felt his own weakness, otherwise he would not have shouted for help; yet, at the same time, he sincerely decided to fight. for the cause of truth, because the word ”help” is impractical where we do nothing ourselves. There is much precision, clarity of perception and audacity in this two-word request, much more, in fact, than in the long and incoherent expansions of some believers. The Psalmist knew what he was looking for and where he could find it.
