Verse of the day: For the Lord, because of his great name, will not abandon his people, for he pleased the Lord to make you his people (1 Samuel 12:22).
God’s attitude in choosing His people is the reason he stays with them and does not abandon them; God chose them for their love and loves them for their choice; His own goodwill is the source of his people’s choice, and His choice is why God is satisfied in him. To abandon them would be to dishonor their great name, because it would prove that he made a mistake in choosing them or that there was instability in his love. God’s love has this glory: it never changes; and that glory never loses its intensity.
- With all the memories we have of God’s long suffering expressed above.
- Let us be a sure that He will never abandon us.
- He who has come to make us his people will not defend a work of his grace.
- Sublime wonders for us.
- To abandon ourselves at the end.
- His Son.
- Jesus.
- Died for us; We can be sure he didn’t die in vain.
- Can you abandon those for whom you shed their blood? As he was pleased to choose us and save us.
- His pleasure will be to continue to bless us.
- Our Lord Jesus is someone who loves with unaltered feelings; having loved his own.
- He will love them to the end.
