Verse of the day: Because God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish, but may have eternal life (John 3:16).
Of all the stars in the sky, Polar is the most useful for sailors. This verse is a polar star, as it has led more souls to salvation than any other scripture. It is for the scriptures what the Greater Bear is to the constellations.
- Several words shine with particular brightness in this verse.
- There is god’s love.
- Described by the expression “in such a way”.
- That characterizes his immeasurable greatness.
- Then we find God’s gift.
- In all its breadth and gratuitousness.
- This gift is the Son of God.
- This unique and invaluable gift of a love that was never manifested in all its fullness.
- Until the only begotten Son was sent from heaven to live and die in the name of men.
- These three themes are full of light.
Then we find ourselves simply demanding to believe that, in a funny way, it shows us the way of salvation for the guilty. Is this reinforced with a broad description?” Everyone who believes in him. “Many find in the expression? All this, a place that another more restrictive word would prevent them from finding. Finally, do we have this great promise in this verse? Believers in Jesus will not perish, but will enjoy eternal life. It’s comforting for anyone who feels that way, they’re about to die and they can’t be saved. We believe in the Lord Jesus; therefore, we have eternal life.
