Verse of the day: I will never remember your sins and iniquities forever (Hebrews 10:17).
According to this merciful promise, God treats His people as if he had never sinned; in practice, he forgets all the transgressions of his people; Sins of all kinds, God regards them as if they had never existed, as if they had been completely erased from his memory. Oh, what a great miracle of your grace! In this promise, God does something that is somehow impossible for him.
- Our God now ignores our sin because Jesus’ sacrifice has ratified the covenant.
- We can rejoice in him without fear that he will feel compelled to be angry with us for our iniquities.
- Note: He places us among his children.
- He accepts us as righteous.
- Rejoices in us as if we were perfectly holy; it even puts us in a position of trust and makes us guardians of his honor.
- Guardians of the jewels of his crown.
- Guardians of his gospel; He considers us worthy and entrusts us with a ministry: it is the most sublime and special proof that He does not remember our sins.
- Even when we forgive an enemy.
- It is too late to trust him again; we think it is unwise to do so.
- But the Lord forgets our sins and treats us as if we have never been wrong.
- O my soul.
- What a wonderful promise! Believe it and be happy.
