Verse of the day: Christ, having offered himself once and for all to take away the sins of many, will appear a second time, without sin, to those who await him for salvation (Hebrews 9:28).
That’s our hope. To whom we look, who has already come for the first time to take upon himself the sins of many, he will manifest himself again to the children of men. In itself, it is a blessed perspective. However, this second event has particular characteristics that make it particularly beautiful.
- Our Lord will have completely solved all problems related to sin; He has so completely eliminated the sin of his people and has so effectively withstood the punishment of sin that there will be nothing more to do for sin when it comes the second time.
- You will no longer present a sin offering.
- Because you will have completely suppressed it; our Lord.
- At his second coming.
- Will complete the salvation of his people; they will be completely and finally saved and will enjoy.
- In all respects.
- The fullness of this salvation.
- The Lord Jesus will not come to bear the consequences of our transgressions.
- But to bring the fruits of his obedience; This will not come to remove our condemnation.
- But to perfect our salvation.
Our Lord will only appear to those who expect Him. It will not be seen that way by those whose eyes are blinded by selfishness and sin. For these, the Lord Jesus will be a terrible judge and nothing else. First we must turn to him to be saved; so look at him at his Second Coming. In any case, our look at Jesus will mean life.
