Jonathan Parnell? Money, possessions and God will leave you

Hebrews 13:5 is a simple verse, but the argument is incredible. Scripture readers know that love of money is dangerous (Matthew 6:24; Luke 16:13; 1 Timothy 3: 3; 1 Timothy 6:10; 2 Timothy 3: 2), but here the author of Hebrews gives us more.

The two commandments in verses 5a and 5b have an important connection. Both orders are positive: “Is your life free from the love of money?”And be happy with the things you have. Can we see what L?Is this parallel to?What do you got? Therefore, orders of freedom and satisfaction are, in a way, linked to their possessions.

  • Using Biblearc.
  • Com.
  • I represented the relationship between verses 5a and 5b as a progression [P].
  • The order to remain free from the love of money (the possibility of having more) moves towards the order to settle for what we have now.

That would be enough for us. But the author continues. It gives us a foundation for that freedom and satisfaction.

Let his life be free from the love of money and be happy with what he has, because he said, “In no case will I leave you, I will never abandon you. “

The order for us to be free and satisfied is based [G] on the promise that God is always with us. At this stage, we will delve into this text for theological reflection.

The basis of our liberation from love of money and our contentment with what we have is that God is always with us (affirmed negatively in promise?Under no circumstances will I leave you?).

So how does God’s presence relate to money or property? We can be free to love more and be happy with what we have because we have God.

Is the release of love of money and satisfaction with what we have based on the reality that we can always say that we have superior and lasting assets?(Hebrews 10:34). The Lord is our part. Because of Jesus’ death and resurrection for us and the work of awakening the Spirit, God has become our treasure. And whoever is most desirable will never leave us. He’ll never leave us.
