Praying correctly means being right, acting properly, and living properly. Everything that prevents prayer prevents holiness. When everything that prevents us from praying correctly is eliminated, the path to rapid advancement in spiritual life opens up. If we could count, day after day, prayers that do not lead to any results, which do not benefit man, nor influence God, we would be surprised to see the numbers.
We need men and women who can reach God and receive much of their inexhaustible reserves. The Church is deeply affected by the materialism of her time. The interests of the earth exclude those of heaven, time eclipses eternity, a bold and illusory humanism. destroys worship and distorts God’s essential understanding.
- Men and women who know how to pray.
- And who can project God and his divine institutions on earth effectively redeeming.
- Are our only way out.
- The Church can triumph towards her final conquests without possessing riches.
- Without having to face poverty or contempt.
- Nor be discredited by the world and rejected by culture and society; but without men and women who know how to pray.
- He will not be able to defeat the most fragile enemy or win a single trophy for his Lord.
You can close your learning hot spots, your eloquent speakers can be silenced forever, but your prayers will be even more powerful than your knowledge or eloquence and will assure you of the most glorious achievements. You can lose everything except prayer of faith, and that will be more powerful than Aron’s stick to create effective agencies or ministries and generate enormous results. Behind a holy ministry full of zeal and passion, there must be a prayer that prevails and brings with it a glorious Pentecost.
Sin prevents prayer
“If I had contemplated vanity in my heart, wouldn’t the Lord have listened to me?(Psalm 66. 18). The sins of the heart that are not rejected, or that we do not fight to overcome, interrupt prayer. Prayer cannot flow from the heart that nourishes or protects sin, which harbors sin of any kind. Rebellious or meaningless thought is a sin; the look of concupiscence or the lust of the heart is a sin. We must cry out to God with a pure heart.
Holy hands? You must rise in prayer. A stain on the hand is as fatal to prevent prayer as sin in the heart. The person who prays must be righteous in his heart, but his actions must also be righteous. Pride avoids prayer

Pride destroys humility, generates vanity, transfers faith in God to faith in itself. There is such a sense of pride in being complete in oneself that it destroys the basis of prayer. His constant feeling is, “I’m full and I don’t need anything else. “
The proud pray, perhaps even regularly, but it is the prayer of a Pharisee, a parade of the ego, a catalogue of his own goodness. Pride hides under the guise of gratitude to God, praising God using the incense of the altar of the ego Pride manifests itself in the parade of our religious works, in the exhibition of accomplishments, whether religious or not.
Prayer must be born from below. Pride seeks the highest places and can never be found in the humble places where prayer is incubated; the wings of prayer must be covered in dust; pride despises the dust of humility and covers its wings with the brightness and gold of the ego. Vanity, selfishness of self-centered thoughts, and exalted conversations are all obstacles to prayer, as they declare the presence of pride. God, according to the Apostle, resists pride and turns all his armies against him.
A spirit that doesn’t forgive
Nurturing a ruthless spirit hinders prayer. Revenge, retaliation, a ruthless spirit, lack of tolerance, lack of a spirit of full and absolute mercy towards all who have harmed us in any way or to any extent, impede prayer. Life at home, its peace and unity, affects prayer, discord in the home prevents prayer. The Apostle exhorts wives and husbands to live in purer love and gentler union, so that their prayers may not be hindered. Confusion in a water source breaks the serenity of the surface and the calm and peaceful flow of the current. discord breaks and separates all the braided threads that make up prayer.
A worldly spirit
A worldly spirit prevents prayer. The world has a more negative effect on prayer than all contaminated and swamp-infested waters on health. It obscures the view upwards, nullifies spiritual impulses, and cuts off the wings of aspirations. ask wrong, waste on your pleasures? (James 4. 3).
Our lusts, as a remnant of the carnal spirit that still remains in us, are the link that unites us to the world; are the citadel, or the border fortresses, from which our enemy, the world, has not yet been expelled. We pray, but we do not receive because the world corrupts us all the answers.
A pure heart, or someone who longs for purity, is the only one who can be trusted to answer prayers. While our desires are allowed to linger, they contaminate our spiritual food, inspire and contaminate all our prayers with worldly desires. God and receiving something from him, it is absolutely essential that one is dead in the world. If we want God to open our ears, we must keep our ears closed to the world.
A heart impregnated, or polluted by the smallest, of the world, cannot ascend God like an eagle with broken wings cannot ascend into the sun. The man whom Tiago describes as a wave of the sea, pushed and agitated. by the wind (Stg 1. 6), is the worldly man of spirit, whose energies and spiritual choices are broken by the influences and infusions of the world, he has a double mind, half for God and half for the world, now for heaven, now for earth. Don’t you think this man will get something from the Lord?(James 1. 7).
Lack of holiness, impatience, or any other spirit, thought, feeling, or action that is not in harmony with the Spirit of God will impede prayer; a faith troubled by doubt, or fainted by fatigue or weakness, will not work in prayer The elements that weaken spiritual nerves and muscles for great struggles will prevent prayer.
