I am the result of the prayers of a mother who had not yet publicly confessed her faith in Jesus. She was a teenager with depression. One day, in the midst of one of the seizures, I walked past my mother’s room, whose door was ajar, I was able to see her like never before, on her knees, in prayer she pleaded with Jesus to take control of my life.
Jesus seems to have an even more sensitive heart to the prayers of mothers. I remember Naim’s widow (Luke 7:11-17), whose only son had died. The text does not mention any prayers from this mother, but an intrinsic one and sincere desire is also prayer, and how she should have wished that he was not dead. The fact is that the child was resurrected by Jesus.
- And how can we forget the Canaanite woman.
- Mother of a sick daughter.
- Who runs after Jesus to ask for help.
- And when she receives her she does not respond with a prayer to break the wall?Let’s look at the text:.
“Then his disciples came to him and said,” Send her back, because she screamed at us. “He replied,” I have only been sent to the lost sheep of Israel. “The woman came, worshiped him on her lap and said“ Lord, help me !? He replied: “It is not fair to take the children’s bread and throw it to the puppies. ” But she said: “Yes, sir, but even the puppies eat with the crumbs that fall from the table of their owners . . . “Jesus answered:” Woman, great is your faith! Be as you wish. ” And at that very moment, your daughter was cured (Matthew 15: 23-28).
Or how can we not remember Mary, the mother of Jesus, who asks her to do something because she ran out of wine at a wedding?(John 2)
Jesus listens to mothers. He made them himself, gave them that sensitivity, that detachment, and that fraternal love for his children. Mothers don’t even need to be biological, when they become mothers, they immediately become mothers.
However, being a mother is not for everyone, there are women who terribly reject motherhood, but those who receive motherhood willingly know a little more of God’s heart, who, even as Father, has feelings that we consider maternal (Isaiah 66:13).
Every time Mother’s Day comes, I remember, I remember that my mother, already converted before she died, could not see my counsel and ordination, but I am glad to know that where I am and what I do is an answer to her prayer. . My merciful Jesus likes to hear the prayers of mothers. You, the mother who reads this text, pray. Jesus wants to answer.
