January 5? Our enemy unarmed

Our unarmed enemy

Verse of the day: And thou, who were dead by thy rebellions and the incirction of thy flesh, gave life with him, forgiving all our crimes; after cancelling the debt sheet, which was against us and contained orders, which harmed us, he removed it completely, putting it on the cross; and, depriving the principalities and powers, he publicly exposed them to contempt, triumphing over them on the cross (Colossus 2:13-15).

  • The reason why union with Christ makes a big difference for the believer is that Christ won a decisive triumph over the devil on Calvary; he did not take Satan out of the world.
  • But disarmed him to the point of removing the weapon from condemnation.
  • Hand.

Satan cannot accuse believers of unclean sin; and that is the only accusation that can destroy us; therefore, this cannot lead us to total ruin; it can hurt us physically and emotionally, and even kill us; it may tempt us and incite others against us, but it cannot destroy us.

The decisive triumph in Colosssenses 2. 13-15 is due to the fact that “the writing of debt, who was against us?”It was nailed to the cross. The devil had incurred this debt by writing his main accusation against us; now has no charges to file before the court of heaven; he has no power to do what he wants most: condemn us; he can’t do it. Christ carried our condemnation upon himself. The devil is unarmed.

Another way to say this is in Hebrews 2:14-15:? [Christ has become man] so that with his death he may destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, and deliver all those who, out of fear of death, have been subjected to slavery for life?

Death is always our enemy. But it’s harmless. Viper venom has been removed and the deadly sting disappeared. The sting of death was sin, and the power of condemnation of sin was demanded by law. But, thank Christ who met the requirement of the law. “Where is your victory, O dead?
