Late deliveries
Verse of the day: Suddenly all the doors were opened and the chains of each one were released (Acts 16. 26).
- In this age.
- God frees His people from evil at all.
- It is comforting to know this.
- Because otherwise we could conclude from our wickedness that he has forgotten or rejected us.
Therefore, be encouraged by the simple reminder that in Acts 16:19-24, Paul and Silas were not delivered, but in verses 25-26 they were released.
First of all, there is no release
?« Taking Paulo and Silas, did they drag them to the square?(Verse 19).
? “And the pretores tearing their dresses? (Verse 22).
? And after giving them a lot of lashes? (Verse 23)
Did the jailer put his feet in the trunk? (Verse 24).
But then release:
“Around midnight, did Paul and Silas pray and sing praises to God?Suddenly, there was an earthquake that shook the foundations of the prison; Did all the doors open and each one’s chains come loose?(Verses 25-26).
God could have acted sooner. That wasn’t the case. He has his reasons. He loves Paul and Silas.
I ask you: if you trace your life along this sequence, where are you? Is it on stage naked and injured or in the open and liberated stage?
Both are steps in God’s care for you
If you’re at the incarceration scene, don’t despair. Louange. La freedom is on its way. It’s only a matter of time; even if it goes through death.
