January 1st? Grace for the New Year

Grace for the new year

Verse of the day: But by the grace of God, I am who I am; and his grace, which was bestowed upon me, was not in vain; I used to work much harder than everyone else; however, not me, but God’s grace with me (1 Corinthians 15. 10)

  • Grace is not only God’s will to do us good when we do not deserve it.
  • It is a true power of God that works and makes good things happen in us and for us.

God’s grace was God’s action in Paul to make Paul work hard:?For God’s sake, have I worked much more than everyone else? Then, when Paul says “work for your salvation,” he adds, “Why does God who works in you want and do according to his goodwill?”(Philippians 2:12-13). Grace is God’s power to do good things in us and for us.

This grace has passed and it is future. It always flows into the infinitesimal waterfall of the present, from the inexhaustible river of grace that comes to us from the future, to the ever-increasing reserve of grace of the past.

In the next five minutes, you will receive a support grace flowing from the future and accumulate five additional minutes of grace in the tank of the past. The appropriate response to the grace you have experienced in the past is gratitude, and the appropriate response to the grace promised to you in the future is faith. We are grateful for the past grace of the previous year and rely on the future grace of the new year.
