J. C. Ryle? Christian Unity (and VINACC)

There’s no way out. Despite the great conferences and preaching, one of the most striking things about Christian Consciousness (VINACC) is the awareness of Christian unity, all the speakers say so and, after participating in the event, I totally agree. At one of Franklin Ferreira’s lectures, he saw the importance of the apostolic creed as the unanimous denomination of Christianity, that we are all part of the Holy Catholic Church (Catholic is not synonymous with Roman Catholic, but the word means global, universal, okay?) And that some are called Baptists, others are Presbyterian, others are congregations, others are assemblies and so on.

I spoke to several brothers called Pentecostals at the event and laughed at our differences. Have we discovered that there are thinkers and retirees who feel?(LOL). It is impressive when you come face to face with a brother of flesh and blood, it is no longer just a set of doctrines with which you disagree, but a brother you love, after all, Christ loves the Church and has given his life for her. Every Christian who does not love the Church and the members of the Body as he loved him disgraces God the Son.

The scribes, who had descended from Jerusalem, said: He is possessed of Beelzebul. E: It’s for most demons that expel demons. Then, summoning them to Jesus, he said to them, in parables, How can Satan expel Satan? If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot exist; If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot survive; therefore, if Satan has risen up against himself and is divided, he cannot resist, but perishes; no one can enter the good man’s house to steal his property without tying him up beforehand. ; and only then will he ransack his house. In truth, I say unto you, everything will be forgiven to the children of men: the sins and profanities they pronounce; but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit has no forgiveness forever, for he is an advocate of eternal sin, because they said: He has an unclean spirit (M. 3:22-30).

First we must observe the seriousness of the malignancy of dissension and division. This is a lesson that was strongly emphasized at the beginning of our Lord’s response to the scribes. Jesus showed the absurdity of the hypothesis that Ssanus would “expel Satan,” thus helping to overthrow His own kingdom. He appealed to the notorious fact, which even his adversaries had to admit, that there can be no strength where there is division: “If a kingdom divides against itself, this kingdom cannot survive. “

This truth, however, has not received sufficient consideration. Nowhere has the abuse of the right to individual interpretation produced such great evils. Divisions among Christians are one of the main causes of the church’s weakness.

They often absorb energy, time and energy, which could be better used in larger activities. Such divisions provide non-believers with excellent arguments against the truthfulness of Christianity. They’re helping the devil. In fact, Satan is the main promoter of religious divisions. Because Christianity cannot extinguish, it strives to make believers fight each other and raise their hands against their brethren. No one knows, better than Satan, that “dividing is defeating. “. “

To the extent that it depends on us, let us seek to avoid differences, dissensions and disputes in the religious field; we feel the aversion and abomination for these divisions, as a scourge that harasses the churches; we cannot be too jealous of each truth It is too easy to confuse morbid scruples with good conscience and zeal for the little things with zeal around the truths of the Bible. There is nothing to justify moving away from a church, except that the church has strayed from the gospel. Let us be prepared to give much, to make great sacrifices, for unity and harmony.
