Why did everyone sin and lack the glory of God?(Romans 3. 23)
- The first thing Paul says is.
- “Because everyone sinned.
- “The word? It literally means “failure of the target.
- “In the case of human beings.
- We not only lose the center of the target.
- But we don’t touch any part of it.
- We have completely lost our goal.
- Either by obeying God’s law.
- Remaining in God’s will or glorifying the name of God.
- Now.
- Once we are born again.
- When we hear “Everyone sinned!”.
- We must fall from our seats to worship God.
- Thanking us for such great salvation.
- For He has delivered us from something terrible! However.
- Those who treat the gospel as common or who have created another gospel for themselves should prostrate themselves with fear.
- Knowing that if God does not act on their behalf.
- They will be in sin sooner.
- The Three-Year Saint.
- And this is the most terrible situation you can imagine.
When you hear something over and over again, it usually becomes so common that it loses its power. I remember the first time I crossed the Andes with a group of missionaries, I couldn’t understand why the veteran missionary slept in all this majestic beauty. Then, years later, when I took a group of young people across the same mountain, I found myself snoring, what’s more, the more you hear something and the more you see or read something, that something loses a little bit of its majesty.
Why don’t we tremble at that? That’s because we don’t know how terrible this reality is, we don’t know how much we have sinned, just as a fish doesn’t know how wet it is, we were born into sin, we were conceived in sin, and all we know is sin. Scripture says that our society drinks wickedness as if it were water.
Besides, we also live in a world full of ignorance, we have no knowledge of God, we don’t know who God is, and we treat him like he’s some kind of Santa Claus or an idiot grandfather, we don’t understand. He is the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings.
As we examine the book of Romans, we see the Apostle Paul presenting himself with what is most close to systematic theology; however, he resumes his first three chapters and works with all his might with one goal: to make men renounce all carnal hope, to close in a grave, to close the doors, to remove from their minds any relief in the flesh, so that they may cry out to God by mercy. When we are going to preach the gospel in a missionary field, we have to realize that all our work is an absolute disaster? And that we will experience failure after failure, without God’s power to resurrect dead and hateful men of God. We need, in our preaching, to convince men, through the scriptures, with all our strength, that all have sinned.
Many famous preachers today gain so much popularity because they intend not to talk about sin; However, in doing so, they go against the work of our Lord, who has constantly preached about sin. who worked with all their intellectual strength, encouraged by the Holy Ghost, to reveal the sin of man; and above all, can I assure you that a preacher or missionary who does not appreciate sin does not have the work of the Holy Ghost in his life?because one of the great tasks of the Holy Ghost is to convince men of sin, justice, and judgment (Jn 16:8). When you don’t believe that, you work against the Holy Ghost.
Many wonder why hell has an infinite duration, if we have a limited life of sins. The main reason is this: every sin you commit is against an infinitely worthy and good God, so your sin is of infinite gravity. We have forgotten that sin is always sin! Look at how we talk about offending the Lord: we are talking about sins against men, sins against ourselves, sins even against nature, animals, and trees; however, no one realizes that every sin, in the end, is committed against God. David sinned against his people by not representing him well as king; David sinned against Bathsabé dealing with her; and David sinned against Urria by having him killed. However, in the end he said to God, “Have I sinned against you, against you alone?”(Salt 51,4).
Why is sin so terrible? That’s because we don’t understand what it means! And why don’t we understand what that means: This is because we don’t know how glorious and blessed God is!It is a terrible thing when we realize who we have sinned. As the Puritans said, we sin not against a small leader of a simple city, but against the King of Glory, the One who sits on the highest and most sublime throne.
Imagine this for a moment: God is the day of creation, telling the planets to be placed in a certain orbit in space, and they all bow, say “Amen!”And obey. He tells the stars to take their place in heaven and strictly follow their decree, and they all bow down and obey him. He tells the mountains to rise and the valleys to sink, and they bow down and worship him. He said to the brave sea, “You will come to this point and from here you will not pass, ” and the sea worships him. However, when God says, ‘Come!’
Do you realize how serious our sin is?
God gave Paul Washer a timely and prophetic message for the church of our time. In analyzing this generation, he says that the main problem is not the hardness of the gospel, but ignorance of its content. In response, Washer repeatedly preached the fundamental truths of the gospel (the sin of man, the righteousness of God, the sacrifice, the resurrection of Christ, etc. ). Based on several presentations by Romans 3, the true gospel seeks to present what God has done in Christ, so that he may be just and justify the one who has faith in Jesus (Romans 3:26).
