Because I must warn you that everyone will come and read and listen to this book, which is the word of God, the most precious jewel and the holiest relic that remains on earth; so that you can bring with you the fear of God, and do so with due reverence, using your knowledge, not to boast of frivolous disputes, but for the honor of God, the increase of virtue and the edification of yourself and others .

The Bible is not another book, and we must approach it in a unique way. The Bible is inspired by God: “Is all scripture inspired by God?(2 Tim 3. 16). She’s inspired. This is not to say that the Bible is inspiring. Now it is inspiring, but if someone in the world is inspired by the Bible, the Bible is always inspired by itself. It is the Word of God to us. Jesus exhales, God opens his most holy lips and speaks to us. This Word is GodPalabra. des first, and this Word is exactly what God wanted to be written in the Holy Scriptures.

This means that we must approach the scriptures with special reverence and care. We approached the Bible very carefully. We want to be diligent, we want to be prepared. We want to take it seriously. We also approach this book with special reverence, because God speaks to us. One way to think about submitting to the Word is to stop telling God what we have to do. Now it’s God who speaks to us. One theologian once said that to be a Christian you have to cover your mouth with your hand and shut up. This does not mean that we cannot shout to God. Of course, the psalms are full of them; it means that we must approach the scriptures with reverence, want to listen to God, fully submit to the Word of God.

When we get to the Bible, our goal is not just information, it will never be less than information, we are not against information, God uses that. However, it is much more than information we get from the Bible; we lack faith. This is what God wants for us: that we welcome the Word with faith, with real pleasure, with her desire, depending on it.

When we embrace the Word of God in faith, we keep it in our hearts. Charles Spurgeon said of John Bunyan that if someone pierced him, his blood would be biblical. It was so full of scriptures that they overflowed with it. That’s what we want. ; that’s why we keep it.

Did Jesus say, “If you love me, will you feel chills in your heart? No, he didn’t say that, though it was wonderful. He said, “If you love me, keep my commandments?(Jn 14:15). If we really want to love God, we must be very serious in obeying God and obeying His Word, that is the goal: to be transformed by it, to embrace it by faith, and to worship It at its feet.

In fact, in its simplest form, we must approach the Word of God with the same kind of attitude with which we approach God Himself. If God spoke to you, what did He do in the scriptures, if God opened our mouths, how could we?Well, I think we’d listen carefully. We listened intently, listened with submission. We listened enthusiastically. And we listened to him to love and obey.

Giver of the Word, help us appreciate your scriptures as our most precious asset. May he be in our minds and on our lips!Make us attentive and dedicated students of your perfect Word. Amen.
