Come unto me all ye that are tired and overwhelmed, and I will relieve you; carry with my yoke and learn from me, who am meek and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your soul. Is my yoke soft and my load light? (Mt 11. 28-30).
I was on stage to talk at our weekend event, all of a sudden I realized I didn’t know what to say. Fortunately, everyone thought the long break was helpful, but the few people in the room who knew me well knew something was going on. I forgot the words, I lost my reasoning and quietly panicked. Fortunately, I had my notes and read the page quickly, finding the next topic in my speech.
- It wasn’t the first time lately that my brain didn’t work the way it should or that I’d forgotten something important.
- There were too many dual roles as chief operating officer and women’s ministry.
- She was under pressure.
- Trying to balance twenty cosas.
- Al at the same time.
- Trusting in God.
- Staying calm and leading a team as we continued to build infrastructure.

- And work in the women’s ministry.
- I was exhausted.
- Almost exhausted.
- Completely stressed and was starting to have a physical impact on me There was a lot to do and very little time.
Right after that, the best thing that happened was: Did I?My iPhone in the washing machine (it was in my sweatshirt pocket). It is not the normal answer to rejoice and thank God at that time, but the three-week gift that was incommunicable was a blessing. It was a good forced rest. Until that moment, I don’t think I really realized how tired and stressed I was.
In a BBC documentary entitled ?The Truth About Stress?[The Truth About Stress] presenter Fiona Phillips said that “the World Health Organization has declared (emphasized) the 20th century health epidemic. “Last year, stress was responsible for half of every day of illness.
“Stress manifests itself in physical, psychological or social dysfunction, incapacitating individuals to fill the void in the demands or expectations imposed on them ??Director of Health and Safety
Stress is an inevitable part of life, even in Christian life. Of course, we are all different; What stresses one person may not even get another. My worst-case scenario doesn’t include a huge hairy, ugly spider, but what increases my stress level is public speaking. My heart rate is increasing, my brain works faster and I shake. when my body reacts to stress, flooding it with substances and hormones that are released to help me cope.
Stress has often been referred to as an “escape or combat reaction. “It is a normal part of our structure and is a good thing, because it helps us to be alert to danger and to be able to react quickly. to a security mechanism. It must be temporary; we must not live in a constant state of danger and stress. The lifestyles we live in, work, pressures and demands can mean that we can be continuously in “run or fight” mode. We quickly feel overwhelmed. The result is an imbalance that causes health problems and other losses.

You can even try to slow down, but you can’t. It seems that it works There is always something in the way: mobile phone, email, children, work demands, home activities. Resources that should help us and save time only increase pressure, because now we have the opportunity to do more: online banking, newspapers, emails, text and voice messages, Twitter and Facebook. All this is leaking into our lives. If there’s free time, we just put something else in place. Does that describe you?
Is having time with God a priority for you, or is it another part of the time-taking list?Do you compress it in a space free of your day?You know what I mean? Suddenly, you develop a habit of making your “moment. “of devotion”. in the car listening to the Bible in audio and praying for things on the way to work. You have not pondered the Word of God, but have you marked the element?on your to-do list. When it comes to spending time with God, the real problem is not that we have much to do, but that we allow these things to distract us from spending a lot of time with Him. This is the harsh reality!
