Brazil instituted the national day of combating religious intolerance on 21 January, through Law 11. 635 / 2007, the date chosen by the death of the African religious leader, ialorix, Ms. Gilda, victim of religious intolerance [1].

Each religion has its own set of values and beliefs, removing or reducing one of these values and/or beliefs leads to a direct offense to the dignity of the human person and religious freedom. In her book Religion and Criminal Law, Janauna Paschoal concludes masterfully:

Religious law applies to all religious organizations. We continue to recognize numerical variation in the field of international persecution and the attempt by the media and progressive movements to disqualify the Christian denomination, but we are committed to the fight against religious intolerance, even one that affects those who do not believe in the same way we believe.
