How do I know if I am a convert?

How do I know if I have really become?

Does John’s first epistle present several? To help Christians know if they have attained faith in Christ:

  • 1.
  • La proof of faith: “Anyone who believes that Jesus Christ is born of God?(1 John 5.
  • 1a).
  • Then ask yourself.
  • Do I trust Jesus Christ for salvation?.

2. La test of obedience 😕 If we say that we are in communion with him and that we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth, but if we walk in the light, as in the light, we maintain communion between us, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us of all sin?(1 John 1. 6-7). So ask yourself: does my life show a common pattern of sin without repentance or repentance from sin and struggle to walk in the light?

3. The proof of love: “He who does not love remains in death. Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer; why do you know that not every murderer has permanent eternal life in him? (1 John 3,14b- 15) So ask yourself: do I love other Christians in a concrete way that shows the reality of my faith?

4. La test of perseverance 😕 They have left our community; However, they were not ours; for if they had been ours, they would have stayed with us; However, did you set out to make it clear that none of them were ours?(1 John 2:19). Those who do not persevere in faith prove that their faith was false from the beginning, so ask yourself: Am I continually in faith despite struggles and oppositions?

Another principle: even Christians tend to deceive themselves. So work on these issues with the members of your church who know you best and who love you (see Proverbs 11. 4; 15. 22). Obviously, it’s hard to do it if you haven’t let anyone into your life at first.

Not in general

? John is absolutely clear: only those who walk in the light, obey God’s commandments, and love other Christians are truly converted (1 John 1. 6-7; 2. 4-6; 3. 7-8).

? Paul makes the same point when he writes, “Or do you not know that the unjust will not inherit the kingdom of God?(1 Corinthians 6: 9). Elsewhere, it says clearly, “For if you live by the flesh, he shall die; But if by the Spirit you kill the acts of the body, will you certainly live?(Romans 8. 13). Those who actively fight sin and seek justice are true Christians.

? Jesus Himself said: “A good tree cannot produce bad fruits, nor a bad tree produce good fruits. Any tree that doesn’t bear good fruit, is it cut and thrown into the fire?(Matthew 7:18-19). All born-again produce good spiritual fruits, which highlight each of them as different from the world (see also Matthew 5. 13-16; Matthew 7. 21-22).

Although no Christian is perfect in this life, the New Testament insists that only those whose lives show a true spiritual fruit are born again.

Pray for yourself and the other person. Pray that she may be faithful by simply telling the truth, relying on the Spirit of God to do the work of true persuasion (1 Corinthians 3. 6-7; 2 Corinthians 7. 8-10) Pray that she may be convinced and change her mind.

Tell the truth with love (Ephesians 4:15). Approach the person with care, patience, and kindness, explain that you confront them for a deep and affectionate concern for their eternal good.

Explain that your goal is not to give a final verdict on your soul. On the contrary, she fears that she will not live as the scriptures say a Christian does. Highlight passages such as Matthew 7. 13-29; Romans 6: 12-23; 8. 13, 1 Corinthians 6: 9-11; 2 Corinthians 13. 5 and the whole book of 1 John.

Ask him gently. Ask questions like, “Do you think your life is consistent with the biblical image of a true Christian?”Are you really struggling with sin or do you secretly enjoy it?Do you think being a Christian means repenting of your sins and trusting in Christ??

Remind him of his profession of faith and baptism. Remind him of the gospel.

Call her to consider eternity. Remind him that eternal joy or condemnation is at stake (Psalm 49; Matthew 25:31-46).
