His identity in the War of Christ

Christian women are a poor group. We suffer, we fight, we are devastated, overwhelmed and discouraged, as this is so common among us (and we all know that this should not be the case), much remains to be done to try to encourage, rise, accompany and show that our weakness is the perfect step for your strength.

We have real problems and, in trying to solve them, we come across questions that we cannot answer. How do you know that, can I, is your situation suffocating you? These are real questions, real problems faced by many women, and so in these conversations about our complex needs and problems, we often hear about the great Christian comfort of identity in Christ.

  • So why.
  • With so much discussion about Christian identity.
  • About how we are loved and accepted.
  • About how we belong to God.
  • Don’t women who share our faith seem stronger? We’re still combining our fights right now.
  • We changed chess as if it were good news and consoled ourselves with even more failures.
  • We want to declare ourselves “enough.
  • ” We treat Christian identity as if it were a large and welcoming blanket under which all mankind should settle for a long nap.

But what if our identity in Christ is not a cover?

What if, instead of a comfortable place to hibernate, our relationship with Christ was really like a cold steel bayonet, destined for a completely different purpose? Is your identity in Christ a weapon that will kill the old man?Who lives in you (Rom 8. 13). We were buried in death, by baptism, to walk in the novelty of life (Rom 6:4).

If we are not equipped by Christ to fight sinful nature in all of us, no matter how thick or comfortable the comfortable blanket is, underneath, the cold hands of sin are always around our necks. This fight can’t be comfortable. We can’t calm down by getting rid of our problems.

Our problems need the death of Christ, and they need our death in Him (Gal 2:20). We must believe in God’s love, completely. We must believe in Jesus, absolutely, but the first thing we need in this belief is repentance. Repent and believe (M. 1. 15). Are you turning against your old man?I? And believe in Christ (2Co 5. 17). As John Owen says, “Does sin or sin kill you?”

What we desperately need is not comfort in itself, but the true source of comfort: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Father of mercy and God of all comfort!(2Co 1. 3). We need effective tools to fight the flesh itself, I believe that is exactly what our identity in Christ is, it is the hope of victory over sin, the confidence that Christ has done what we cannot do, it is an older brother who saves us. . It is the most difficult point of death for him and the glorious consolation of a new and sanctified life in him.

Sin is the enemy (Gen 4. 7). Sin is in us, Christ is the winner. Christ is in us. When you are faithful to your identity in Christ, you must be the enemy of sin in you. You must hate these cold hands on your neck enough to make them captive of Christ, enough to cry out to your Savior with the certainty that He will see them dead. That’s why all these simple banalities have done so little to make us feel better.

Jesus loves you, so He would kill that part of you that loves sin. If we want to live well, we must learn to die there. Your identity in Christ gives you the courage, capacity, and desire to do so. In Christ, his sin cannot govern him; in Christ, he doesn’t want that. In Christ, we have the strength to fight him, and in Christ, we will finally have victory.

There are no words to express how deep, real and liberating this comfort is and this love is rest. It’s joy. It’s victory This is real life. But it is not the comfort of small lies about our beauty or the fact that we deserve happiness; it is the comfort of seeing the true nature of our Savior and his love for us.

It is not because of our beauty, but because of hers, that we must be captivated; in it, our flesh is nailed to the cross; in this, she dies. In this, we can live truly without guilt and without shame. Does knowing who we are in Christ prepare us to carry our daily burdens and handle our trials in a way that reflects the glory of our salvation? To reflect our Christ!

It’s time for victory. But you can’t wait for victory when you’re too afraid to fight. Christian women have not been as needy as we have been cowards. We should no longer be afraid or afraid of the nature of our identity in Christ. Christ really beautiful, like a clear sunrise on a new day full of hope and life, but it is the same sun that rises on a day of execution.

Are our sins, our great enemies? Selfishness, lust, laziness, envy. Our flesh will die in Christ. This is the glorious day that we can live, belonging to Him totally, strong in our identity and under the eternal arms of Christ. Ladies, wield your weapons willingly, because they belong to God.
