God’s will is for you to come closer

Verse of the day: Let us approach with a sincere heart (Hebrews 10:22).

The command given to us in this passage is to draw close to God. The great purpose of the writer of the book of Hebrews is that we get closer to God, that we have fellowship with Him, that we not have a Christian life outside of God. .

  • This approach is not a physical act.
  • It’s not about building a Tower of Babel for your achievements to reach paradise.
  • It’s not necessarily about going to church or walking in front of an altar.
  • It’s an invisible act of the heart.
  • You can do this by staying absolutely still or lying on a hospital bed or train while heading to work.

Is this the center of the gospel? Is this the purpose of the Garden of Gethsemane and Good Friday? That God has done wonderful and costly things to draw us closer to him. He sent his Son to suffer and die, so that for him we may draw closer to ourselves. Everything he’s done in The Great Plan of Redemption is so we can get together; and this closeness is for our joy and the glory of God.

He doesn’t need us. If we stay apart, he does not become impoverished, he does not need us to be happy in Trinitarian communion, but he magnifies his mercy, giving us, despite our sin, free access through his Son to the only reality he can. satisfies our souls completely and forever; i. e. himself. “In your presence, there is much joy; Are there perpetual delights on your right hand?(Psalm 16. 11).

This is God’s will for you now that you read this. That is why Christ died: that you may approach God.
