God’s Plan in Deviations

Verse of the day: And whatever you do, whether by word or action, do it in the name of the Lord Jesus, thanking God the Father (Colossses 3:17).

Have you ever wondered what God is doing while searching the wrong place for something you missed and really need?He knows exactly where you are and allows you to search the wrong place.

  • Once.
  • I needed an appointment for a new edition of my book Desiring God.
  • Sheld publications].
  • I knew I’d read it in Richard Wurmbrand.
  • I thought it was in his devotional book.
  • Reaching the Heights.
  • I could almost see it on the right side of the past pages.
  • But I couldn’t find it.

However, as I watched, I was drawn to a page, the devotion of November 30. When I read it, I said, “That’s one of the reasons I had to keep looking for my date. “There was a story there, not for me, but for the parents of children with disabilities.

Having children with disabilities is like looking in the wrong place for what you’ve lost and not being able to find it. Why is that? It was the unforeseen reward of “lost” moments.

In a home for children with disabilities, Catherine was assisted for twenty years. The girl was [mentally disabled] forever and had never said a word, she just vegetated. He looked calmly at the walls or made messy movements. Eating, drinking and sleeping. It was what he consisted of all his life. She didn’t seem to be involved in what was going on around her. One leg had to be amputated. The team gave Cathy good luck and hoped the Lord would soon bring her back.

One day, the doctor called the warden to come quickly. Catherine was dying. When the two entered the room, they couldn’t believe what they had seen. Catherine sang Christian hymns she had heard and memorized, exactly those that suited the deathbed. He repeated the German song over and over again: “Where is the soul to find his homeland, his rest?”He sang for half an hour with a transfigured face, then died in peace. (From The Best Is Still to Come, Wuppertal: Sonne und Shild)

Is it really in vain something done in the name of Christ?

My frustrated and meaningless search for what I thought I needed was not in vain. Singing for this disabled child is not lost. And isn’t your dreadful and unexpected amusement a waste?not if you trust in the Lord for His unexpected work and do what needs to be done in His name (Colossses 3:17). The Lord works for those who wait on him (Isaiah 64:4).
