Verse of the day: That is why we do not stop praying for you, that our God may make you worthy of your vocation and fulfill with strength all the purposes of goodness and the work of faith (2 Thessaloniki 1:11).
Seeking God’s power to achieve our good goals does not mean that we do not really decide or that we do not really use the power of will.
- The implication of God’s power never replaces the implication of our will!God’s power in sanctification never makes us passive! The power of God is established below.
- Behind.
- Or in our will.
- And not in the place of our will.
The test of God’s power in our lives is not the absence of our will, but the strength of our temperament.
Anyone who says, “Well, I believe in God’s sovereignty, so I’m going to sit down and do nothing,” doesn’t really believe in God’s sovereignty. Because why would anyone who believes in God’s sovereignty disobey him so openly??
When you sit down and do nothing, do nothing, actively involve your will in the decision to sit down, and if that is how you treat sin or temptation in your life, it is blatant disobedience, because we are commanded to fight a good battle (1 Timothy 1:18), resist the devil (James 4. 7), and follow sanctification (Hebrews 12. 14).
This verse says that it is through the power of God that we will accomplish our good purpose and our work of faith. However, doesn’t that negate the meaning of the word? Purpose? And the word “work”. Part of the entire process of walking a path worthy of God’s call is the active commitment of our will to propose to act with justice.
If you have a persistent sin in your life, or if you continue to neglect a good job, simply because you hoped to be saved without a fight, you aggravate your disobedience. God will never manifest Himself with power in His will in any other way. than a good plan you make and maintain.
Therefore, people who believe in God’s sovereignty should not be afraid to involve their will in the struggle for holiness. “Are you trying to get through the narrow door, because I tell you that many will seek to enter and will not be able to?(Luke 13:24).
