Verse of the day: Because you were bought for price, now glorify God in your body. (1 Corinthians 6. 20)
? Worship? This is the term we use to involve all acts of the heart, mind, and body that intentionally express the infinite worth of God.
- Don’t think about services when thinking about worship.
- This is a great limitation that is not in the Bible.
- All life must be a cult.
Have breakfast, for example, or eat a sandwich in the middle of the morning. 1 Corinthians 10:31 says, “Whether you eat, drink, or do something else, do it all for the glory of God. “Now, eating and drinking are the most basic things you can imagine. What could be more real and humane?
Or have sex, for example. Paul says that the alternative to fornication is worship:
? Run away from impurity. Any other sin a person commits is outside the body; but he who practices immorality sins against his own body. Don’t you know that your body is a sanctuary of the Holy Spirit, that it is in you, that you have God, and that you are not yourself?Price. Now, then, do you glorify God in your body? (1 Corinthians 6. 18-20).
Or consider death as a final example. We’ll die in our bodies. In fact, this will be the last act of the body on this earth. How should we worship in this last act of the body?We see the answer in Philippians 1:20-Paul says that his hope is that Christ will be exalted in his body by death. Then he adds: For me, is dying a gain?We express the infinite value of Christ at the time of death, considering death as a gain.
You have a body. But it’s not yours. ” Because you were bought by price. Now, do you glorify God in your body?
You’re still in a temple. Always in adoration.
