Verse of the day 😕 David consulted the Lord. (2 Samuel 5:23)
When David asked the Lord for advice on this occasion, he had already fought the Philistines and been warned that he would win. They came in great numbers, but David put them on the run with God’s help. Note that when the Philistines came a second time, David did not go out to fight without consulting the Lord. As I had already emerged victorious, I could have said, what many have said, in other cases: “I will come out victorious again. “I can rest on the fact that, if I’ve already won, I’ll succeed again. Why should I delay and seek the Lord? No, David didn’t do that. He had won a battle with the strength of the Lord and would not risk entering another without securing his help. David asked, “Am I going to face them?” and waited for him to be given God’s sign.
