February 7th? Last-minute progress

Last-minute progress

Verse of the day: Jesus, remember me when you enter your kingdom (Luke 23:42).

One of the biggest killers of hope is that he’s been trying to change for so long and he hasn’t made it.

You look back and think: what’s the point?Even if I could experience any progress, there would be so little time to live with my new procedure that it wouldn’t make much difference compared to so many decades of failure.

The former thief who was on the cross next to Jesus lived about an hour before he died. It’s transformed. He lived on the cross as a new man with new attitudes and actions, without further harmful acts), but 99. 99% of his life was in vain. Did the last hours of novelty matter?

They mattered to count infinitely. This former thief, like all of us, will appear before the court of Christ’s trial to account for his life. “Why is it important for all of us to appear before the court of Christ’s judgment, that all may receive according to good or evil?Have you done for the body? (2 Corinthians 5:10) How will your life bear witness on that day of your new birth and your union with Christ?

The last few hours will tell the story. This man was regenerated, his faith was real. He is truly united to Christ, the righteousness of Christ is yours. Your sins are forgiven you.

This is what the last few hours will proclaim in the final judgment. Your change mattered. It was and will be a beautiful testimony of the power of God’s grace and the reality of his faith and his union with Christ.

Now, let’s get back to our fight for change. I’m not saying that fighting believers aren’t saved, as the thief was, I’m just saying that the last years and hours of life are important.

If in the last 1% of our lives we can win a victory over a persistent sinful habit or harmful flaw in our personality, now it will be a beautiful testimony to the power of grace, and it will be an additional one in the final judgment. testimony, even if it is not the only one, of our faith in Christ and of our union with him.

Have courage, fighter. Keep asking, searching and calling. Keep looking at Christ. If God gains glory by saving thieves at the last minute, he certainly intends why He waited until now to give you the progress you’ve been looking for for decades.
