February 2nd? Daily devotion CHARLES SPURGEON

Verse of the day :?No bloodshed there is no remission?(Hebrews 9:22)

It is the voice of an unaltered truth. In none of the Jewish ceremonies were sins eliminated, even figuratively, without bloodshed. Sin cannot be forgiven in any way without atonement. This clearly shows that without Christ there is no hope for me. There is no other bloodshed that deserves to be considered. As an instrument of atonement for sin, am I believing in Christ?Has the blood of his Atonement really been applied to my soul? All men are in the same level of need as the Lord Jesus. Even if we are virtuous, generous, kind, or patriotic, the rule will not change to grant us concessions. Sin will yield to nothing less powerful than the blood of the one God sent for propitiation.

  • What a blessing to know that there is only one way to be forgiven! Why would we look for another? Formally religious people do not understand how we can rejoice in the fact that all our sins have been forgiven for the love of Christ.
  • Their labors.
  • Prayers.
  • And ceremonies offered little comfort.
  • It is good that they are restless.
  • Because they neglect such a great salvation and fight for a remission without blood.
  • My soul.
  • Take the time to consider that God’s justice has an obligation to punish sin.
  • See this punishment executed on the Lord Jesus and bow down in humble joy.
  • Kiss the precious feet of Him whose blood made atonement for you.
  • When consciousness is awakened.
  • It is unnecessary to turn to feelings and evidence for comfort.
  • It is a habit that we have learned in the past.
  • The only remedy for the guilty conscience is the contemplation of Jesus suffering on the cross.
  • “Blood is life?” says the law in the book of Leviticus.
  • We must remain calm in the certainty that the blood is the life of faith.
  • Joy and all other spiritual graces.
