Verse of the day: We have all received from his fulness and grace over grace (John 1:16).
- Just before last Sunday’s service.
- The small group of Saints who prayed fought for the faith of our people and for churches in cities and nations as they prayed.
- At one point a man prayed for the words of John 1.
- 14.
- 16:.
And the Word became flesh and dwelted among us, full of grace and truth, and have we seen his glory, his glory as that of the father’s besath? For we have all received from his fulness and grace over grace.
It was one of those moments of epiphany for me. Did God grant that word at that time? Fullness? Of its fullness? It conveys an abundance that had an extraordinary effect on me. Did I feel a measure of what the word really says? The fulness of Christ.
I felt a little astonished that, yes, I had really received grace about the grace of this fulness, and at that moment, I was receiving grace upon grace. Did it seem appropriate to me that nothing should be sweeter than just sitting at your feet?or read my Bible throughout the afternoon and feel its fullness overflow.
Why has this fullness had such an impact on me?And why does it still touch me in this unusual way?Partly why?
