Verse of the day: I know how to be humiliated and honest (Philippians 4:12).
Are there many who know how to be humiliated? But they don’t know how to “be honest. “When placed at the tip of an arrow, they disorient and tend to fall. Most of the time, believers dishonor their confession of Christian life when they are in prosperity and not in adversity. Being prosperous is dangerous. The crucible of adversity is less severe proof for the believer than the purifying crucible of prosperity. O how the poverty of the soul and the neglect of spiritual things have followed God’s mercy and generosity!
- It is not necessary; the apostle Paul said that he had learned to live abundantly.
- When he had a lot.
- He knew how to use what he had.
- When the boat was full.
- It was loaded with enough ballast to sail safely.
- Abundant grace enabled him to endure abundant prosperity.
- Holding the cup brimming with mortal joy with a steady hand requires more than human skill.
- However.
- The apostle Paul had learned this skill.
- When he said: “In all circumstances.
- Have I already experienced both abundance and hunger? (Philippians 4:12).
- Learning to live abundantly is a divine lesson.
- Many have asked for mercy to satisfy the desires of their hearts.
- The abundance of bread has often caused an abundance of blood and has produced a debauchery of the spirit.
- When we have a lot of providential mercy from God.
- It usually happens that we have little grace from God and little gratitude for the goodness we receive.
- We are in abundance and we forget God.
- Satisfied with earthly things.
- We are content to proceed without heavenly things.
- Rest assured that it is more difficult to learn to be abundant than to learn to be hungry.
- So desperate is the tendency of human nature to pride and forget God.
- Be sure to ask in your prayers for God to teach you to experience abundance.
