In my preaching, I emphasize the doctrine. One of the reasons I do this is that the Apostle Paul also pointed this out.
That was his missionary strategy. When he finished his work of establishing the church in Ephesus, he said, “I protest to you today that I am pure from the blood of all; Why have I never stopped telling you the whole plan of God?(AT 20. 26- 27) Then, on Sundays, I preach doctrine.
- Today is Monday.
- The sun is shining.
- The sky is blue as the ocean.
- The temperature is about 20 degrees Celsius.
- The wind blows smoothly and the air is clean and clear.
- Tulips grow.
- At times like these.
- You want to jump for joy and not study doctrine.
Me neither
I am not interested in a religion that offers anything other than the fullness of joy and pleasure in perpetuity (Ps 16:11), I am not just referring to the deep pleasures that arise at a time when the heart discovers God’s faithfulness in a tragedy. There are many cruel diseases and deaths in the world, so I don’t mean them until the curse is removed, but now I’m not talking about these things.
I also mean what calves do:?(Ml 4. 2). I really like the April sun, the heat on my skin and the breeze on my face, I appreciate the cries of joy of my little ones when they come home from school testing their lungs, I like the uninhibited and unsymity affection of preschoolers. Adolescents. I love the exuberance of some young people in my church, manifested in dramatizations, for the love of Jesus.
Exuberance!
That’s a weird word, isn’t it? I think at eleven we’ve already lost that feature. We tried to find her in a lot of artificial ways, but it’s over. We grew up and now we know too much.
Or do we know little about it? We have gone from the naive exuberance of childhood to the dark realism of maturity.
Let us return to doctrine: the whole Council of God, what is the whole Council of God?
This is the new foundation of exuberance, when childhood naivety is no longer appropriate; it’s a different basis. The old foundation cannot face reality, but the new one sees everything: cancer, nuclear weapons, environmental crises, terrorism, abortion, devastated cities, broken marriages, abandoned children, depression, sees and feels them all. However, does this foundation not destroy or disappear? Whether in the hospital or in jail.
This is all Dieu. Si’s advice you intend to jump for joy on a spring day, remember: either you will do it with your eyes closed, or you will do so on the great granite plateau of all God’s counsel, also known as doctrine.
Blessed art thou when men hate you and expel you from their company, insult you and reject your name as unworthy, because of the Son of Man. Rejoice that day and rejoice, why?(Lk 6. 22-23) . Yes, space was filled with the words “great is your reward in heaven. “But how did you expect this price?this reward; What is the content of this award and how is confidence in the daily price guarantee maintained?It’s all doctrine. Without him, we won’t jump for long, and certainly not in jail.
