[DEVOTIONAL] John Piper? Reasons why believers don’t want to be afraid

Reasons why believers shouldn’t be afraid

In the Bible, hundreds of times we are told not to be afraid. Don’t be afraid, because I am with you; Do not be frightened, for I am your God (Is 41:10). When we are young, we are easily afraid, even if we know little about what can harm us. As we age, our knowledge of the risks and dangers increases. Should anyone answer ‘no’, because we have become wiser and able to avoid danger, avoid risks and overcome attacks?

  • However.
  • There are better reasons not to let our fear grow; it is not because we are smarter and able to avoid danger.
  • But because.
  • Through faith in Jesus Christ.
  • We are more confident that God will care for us the way He has.
  • Deemed appropriate.
  • This does not guarantee safety or comfort in this life.
  • But it does guarantee eternal joy when we trust in Him.
  • Trust in God.
  • Through Jesus Christ.
  • Is the key to the absence of fear.
  • And God’s promises are the key that frees us.
  • Of the prison of fear; consider these promises and be brave.

1. No will die without the consent of God’s merciful decree for his children.

If the Lord wills, we will not only live, but we will also do this or that (Jacq 4. 15).

Don’t two grilling birds sell? And none of them will fall to the ground without your Father’s consent. Don’t be afraid! You are much more valuable than many birds (Mt 10:29-31).

Look now that I AM, I alone, and no one but me killed and alive; I feel pain and I heal; and there is no one who can deliver anyone out of my hand (Dt 32:39).

(See also Job 1. 21; 1 Sm 2. 6; 2 Rs 5. 7)

2. Curses and spells do not affect God’s people.

For against Jacob there is no enchantment, there is no divination against Israel (Nb 23:23).

3. The plans of terrorists and hostile nations cannot be carried out without the permission of our benevolent God.

The Lord contradicts the designs of the nations and nullifies the intentions of the peoples (Ps 33,10).

Forge projects and they will be thwarted; give orders, and they will not be executed, because God is with us (Is 8:10).

(See also 2 Sam 7:14; Born 4:15. )

Men cannot insult us beyond God’s will for us.

The Lord is with me; What can man do for me?(Salt 118. 6. )

In this God I place my trust and will not fear anything What can man do for me?(Salt 56,11. )

5. God promises to protect his children from anything but for their sake.

For you clung me with love, I will deliver thee; I will keep you safe, because you know my name (Salt 91:14).

God promises to give us everything necessary to obey, enjoy, and honor Him forever.

So don’t worry, saying, “What are we going to eat?Or: What are we going to dress with?Your Heavenly Father knows that you all need them; Therefore, seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things shall also be given to you (Mt 6:31-33).

7. God never diminishes his vigilance

It is true that the guardian of Israel does not sleep or sleep (Salt 121:4).

8. God will be with us, help us and support us in our afflictions.

Don’t be afraid, because I’m with you; don’t be afraid, because I am your God; I strengthen you, help you, and support you with my faithful right hand (Is 41:10).

For I, the Lord thy God, take you by the right hand and say unto you, Fear not, I will help thee (Is 41:13).

9. Terrors will come, some of us will die, but not a hair will be lost.

Jesus told you? There will be amazing things and also great signs of heaven, but won’t a single hair be lost from your head?(Lk 21,10,11. 18).

10. No nothing happens to God’s children outside of established time

Then they tried to stop him; but no one laid his hand at him, for his time had not yet come (Jn 7:30).

(See also Jn 8. 20, 10. 18. )

11. When the Most High God is our help, no one can harm us beyond what He decrees.

Therefore, let us say with confidence: The Lord is my helper, I will not fear; What can man do for me?(Heb 13. 6. )

If God is for us, who is against us? (Romans 8. 31)

12. La’s faithfulness is based on the powerful value of his name, not our small measure of obedience.

Then Samuel said unto the people, Fear not; Have you done all this wrong? For the Lord, by his great name, will not abandon his people (1 Sam 12:20-22).

13. The Lord, our protector, is great and terrible

Don’t be afraid of them; remember the Lord, great and terrible (No. 4:14).
