If Dad’s afraid, who’s the little one going to go to?Parents are supposed to be safe; they know what to do, how to solve problems, fix things and, most importantly, how to protect children from danger. But what happens when a child sees fear in his father’s face?Don’t know what to do? Then he gets angry and panics.
- However.
- If the father is confident.
- The son has a shelter.
- If the father is not terrified.
- But calm and firm.
- All the walls may collapse; all the waves.
- They break; All snakes can whistle; lions.
- Roar; and the winds.
- Blowing.
- There will be no safer place than the father’s arms.
- The father is a refuge.
- While he is confident.
- That is why Proverbs 14.
- 26 says.
- “This is a refuge for your children.
- ” if the father has great confidence.
- The father’s trust is a refuge for the son.
Parents, the battle for trust is not just about us; it’s about the safety of our children; it’s a battle about your sense of safety and happiness; and the question of whether they will become unstable or firm in faith. Until the children know God, in a profound and personal way, we are the image and personification of God in their lives. Being confident, trustworthy, and safe for them, they are more likely to come to God to have him as a refuge when storms hit them.
So how can we have a solid trust? First of all, we are also children; Clay pots, fragile and brittle, fighting anxieties and doubts, the best solution is to wear the best look we have and hide our true ‘I’, at best it will cause us ulcers and, at worst, lead us to a duplicity that dishonors God and repels teenagers. That’s not the answer.
Proverbs 14:26 offers us another answer: “In the fear of the Lord, does the strong man have protection?”It’s very strange. This verse tells us that the solution to fear is fear, the solution to shyness is fear. The solution to uncertainty is fear. The solution to doubt is fear.
How can he?
Part of the answer is that the Fear of the Lord?It means fear of dishonoring the Lord; and that means being afraid to fear the things the Lord has promised to help us overcome them. In other words, the Fear of the Lord is a great destroyer of fears.
If the Lord says, “Don’t be afraid, I am with you; don’t be afraid, that I am your God; Do I strengthen you, help you, and sustain you with my faithful right hand?”(Is 41. 10), It is a dreadful thing to worry about the problem in which it says it will help us. Fear this problem, when he says, “Fear not, for I help you?”, is a vow of mistrust against the Word of God and a great shame of his; and the Fear of the Lord shudders at dishonoring God.
The Lord says, “I will never leave you, I will never leave you. “Therefore, let us say with confidence: “The Lord is my help, I will not fear; What can man do for me?”(Ey 13: 5. 6. ) If the Lord tells you this, not trusting in his presence and help, as He promised, is a kind of pride, which places our assessment of the problem above God Himself, so we read these wonderful words of the Lord: “I am the one who comforts you; Who are you to fear the mortal man or the son of the man who is but grass?(Is 51. 12. ) Who are you to fear man when God promised to help him? It’s a pride to fear the man. And pride is the opposite of the Fear of the Lord.
Yes, this proverb is true and we are of great help. Father, fear God, Yes, he fears God, He fears dishonoring Him, He fears suspicion of Him. Fear puts his assessment of the problem above God Himself. God says he can help you. He’s wiser than you, stronger and more generous. Trust him. Don’t be afraid to trust him.
Because? God works for those who expect Him (Is 64:4). God will solve the problem, save the family. He’ll take care of the little ones. It will meet your needs. He fears distrust of this promise. Then your children will have a shelter. Will they have a father who firmly trusts in himself, but in the promises of God, before whom he trembles if he does not trust?
