Dying is a big gain Five reasons for it
For every melancholy person who thinks pathologically about death, there are probably millions of people who don’t think much about it. When Moses contemplated the brevity of life, he prayed, “Teach us to tell our days?”(Salt 90,12). It’s good to think about death. We have to live well to die well. To live well, you have to understand why death is a gain.
- In this meditation we offer five reasons.
- But they represent only a small part of the glories.
- For example.
- They do not contemplate the great glory of the resurrection; But even if they don’t make it to this great day.
- There’s enough to take our breath away and say.
- Like Paul:.
For me, living is Christ and dying is a gain
1. At the time of death, believers will be perfected.
There will be no more sin in us. We will put an end to the inner struggle and disappointments of offending the Lord, who loved us and gave himself up for us.
But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, to the heavenly Jerusalem, to countless armies of angels, to the universal assembly, and to the church of the firstborn who are listed in heaven, and to God, the judge of all. , and the spirits of perfect justice? (Hey 12:22-23).
2. Au moment of death, we will be freed from the suffering of this world.
We will not yet enjoy the joy of the resurrection, but we will appreciate being delivered from suffering. Jesus told the story of Lazarus and the rich man to show the great change that occurs in death: “Then [the rich man] shouting, said Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and tell Lazarus to wet his fingertips in the water and refresh my tongue, for I am tormented in this flame, but Abraham said, Son, remember that you have received your goods in your life , and Lazarus too, evils; But now, here, it is comforted; You in torment?(Lk 16:24-25).
3. Au moment of death, we will get a deep rest in our souls
There will be serenity under the gaze and care of God that surpasses everything we already know in this world, on the sweetest summer afternoons, on the shore of the most peaceful lake, in our happiest moments.
“I saw, under the altar, the souls of those who had been killed because of the word of God and because of their testimony. They cried loudly, saying, How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, do you not judge or avenge our blood upon those who live on earth? Each of them was then given a white garment and told to rest a little (Revelation 6:9-11).
4. Au moment of death, we will feel a deep feeling of being at home
The whole human race, even without realizing it, lacks God. When we return home to live with Christ, there will be a contentment that goes beyond any sense of security and peace we know. “Are we in full confidence, do you prefer to leave the body and live with the Lord?(2 Co 5. 8).
5. At the time of death, we will be with Christ.
Christ is the most wonderful person on earth; is wiser, stronger, and kinder than anyone we’re happy to spend time with. Christ is always interesting. He knows exactly what to do and what to say, at every moment, to make his friends as happy as possible, Christ is overwhelmed with love and an infinite awareness of how to use his love to make his loved ones feel loved. said: “For me, living is Christ and dying is a gain. However, if living in the flesh pays off for my work, I don’t know what to choose. Now, on both sides, I am ashamed to have the desire to leave and be with Christ, what is incomparably better?(Fp 1. 21-23).
With these five reasons to consider death as a gain, we have only seen the surface of amazement. Is there much more?
