Verse of the day: Dude, sit higher. (Luke 14. 10)
When the life of grace begins in the soul, we really do draw near to God, but we do so with fear and trembling. The soul, aware of its guilt and, because of it, humiliated, is amazed at the solemnity of its position. She sits prostrate on the ground with a feeling of the greatness of Jehovah, in whose presence she remains. With sincere shyness, he ranks last. However, as the believer grows in grace, his fear loses all its terror. He will never forget the solemnity of his position and he will never lose the holy reverence that surrounds a gracious man, when he is in the presence of a God who can create or destroy. Such worship becomes sacred fear and is no longer blinding fear. The believer is called above, to have greater access to God in Christ Jesus. Therefore, the man of God, walking among the splendors of Deity and guarding his face like the glorious cherub with these pairs of wings, the blood and righteousness of Jesus Christ? He will approach the heavenly throne with reverence, prostrate in spirit. There, by contemplating a God of love, goodness and mercy, the believer will understand the character of God better than his absolute divinity. The believer will see his goodness in God, instead of focusing on his greatness; You will see more of your love instead of your majesty. Then the soul, prostrating, still as humbly as before, will enjoy a more sacred freedom of intercession. Prostrated before the glory of the Infinite God, the soul will be sustained by a life-giving awareness of being in the presence of infinite mercy and infinite love and an understanding of its acceptance in the Beloved. Thus, the believer is called higher and qualified to exercise the privilege of rejoicing in God and saying, drawing ever closer to Him, with holy confidence: “Abba, Father !? Therefore, we must go from strength to strength and grow each day in grace, until in your transformed image we finally see your face.
