December 17th? The greatest salvation imaginable

The greatest salvation imaginable

Verse of the day: These are the days, the Lord said, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah (Jeremiah 31. 31)

  • God is just.
  • Holy.
  • And separated from sinners like us.
  • This is our main problem at Christmas and any other time.
  • How will we reconcile with a righteous and holy God?.

However, God is merciful and promised in Jeremiah 31 (five hundred years before Christ) that one day He would do something new; would replace the shadows with the reality of the Messiah; and he would act in our lives in a powerful way and write his will in our hearts, so that we may not be forced from the outside, but that we may be willing from within to love God, trust in Him, and follow Him.

This would be the greatest salvation imaginable: if God would offer us the enjoyment of the greatest reality of the universe and then work on us so that we could enjoy it with as much freedom and joy as possible. I’d be worthy to sing this Christmas, present.

In fact, God promised. But there was a great obstacle: our sin. Our separation from God by our injustice.

How will a holy and righteous God treat sinners with such goodness that it will give us the greatest reality of the universe (His Son) to enjoy it with as much joy as possible?

The answer is that God placed our sins upon his Son and judged them in him, so that He could take them out of his sight and act with us with mercy, while remaining righteous and holy. Hebrews 9:28 says: “Christ, having offered himself once and for all to take away the sins of many. “

Christ took our sins into his own body when he died, he took our judgment. He tyed our fault. And that means that sins have been taken away. They are not before God as the basis for condemnation. In this sense, God forgets sins. They are consumed by the death of Christ.

This means that God is now free, in His righteousness, to grant us the new covenant. He gives us Christ, the greatest reality in the universe, for our pleasure. And you write of your own free will? In our hearts love Christ. , trusts in Christ and follows Christ from within, with freedom and joy.
