Coronavirus and reminder of our fragility

Conavirus seems to be another one of those reminders of our fragility, we are not enough, again we need God to intervene in history or we will simply perish, either because of the disease itself or because of the chaos in the economy it can generate. .

Not for nothing do the Holy Scriptures tell us that it is the Lord’s mercy that prevents us from being consumed (Lm 3:22), we are all wrapped in a grace that sustains us, we cannot even be sure of our own bodies. We carry the possibility of disease within us both inside and outside our bodies. If we are alive it is because a loving God rules this universe that goes from macro to microphone.

  • So.
  • Besides the hygiene care for which we are responsible? And what does the prudence and care we have to do with the life we have been given mean?We also depend on God.
  • So that by his glorious intervention he may cease that we cannot do anything for our scarce efforts.

God invites the world to prostrate in prayer, but unfortunately the only language they seem to understand is that of fear. Our Lord desires to deliver us from all fear (1 John 4:18), but how few believe in His Word.

WHO recently declared a pandemic in the case of coronavirus. He reminded me of a phrase from Professor Mark Oden, who serves God in Italy, one of the places most affected by the virus: “Our species, according to Jesus, lives under the influence of an epidemic called sin. What hope for this virus?

As Christians, we have always declared, through faith, that God cares for us; I understand that God’s concern for us is not to be protected from tragedies or pandemics; God’s care for us is linked to our destiny, He has already assured us: “I am the resurrection and the life; Whoever believes in me, even if he’s dead, will he live?(Jn 11:25). Whatever happens to the Christian, he will be safe in the arms of the Father Jesus who gave us this guarantee, nothing can take it away from us (Romans 8. 35-39).
