Sillas Campos began the Conference with a biblical motivation for evangelization, showing how determined and willing Paul was to preach the Gospel because it is a powerful message (1) (for salvation), (2) where God’s righteousness comes through faith and (3) that exposes human sin and God’s response to it.
- In better explaining the third point.
- Sillas shows that Paul did not affirm that God’s wrath will manifest itself only in the final judgment.
- But has already manifested itself from heaven (v.
- 18).
- The way this anger manifests itself is sometimes noticeable and sometimes it is not.
- Paul’s way of exposing in Romans 1 is “God’s abandonment to infamous passions.
- To the desires of his heart.
- To filth”.
- Man has rejected the knowledge of God and chosen to follow sinful desires.
- So God.
- Showing his wrath.
- Removes the moral barrier of conscience and gives such sinners to perverse feelings?who chose.
Therefore, we should not be discouraged by the moral decline of society, thinking that the devil would gain one way or another, because God actively and passively propagates his wrath; but we must not, like Jonah, deny the gospel of salvation to this corrupt society.
In the midst of all human depravity, the Gospel remains God’s power for salvation. Preach this wonderful gospel courageously and say like Paul, “I have no time to play with sin or seek the riches of this world; I’m going to do something much more important: preach the gospel?
