In this last part of our three-part series on “Christmas according to Angels,” we contemplate the truth that the announcements of the birth of angels celebrate the “glory of God” and the “peace of men. “
Consider first that the angels celebrated? Glory to God? (Lk 2:14) in his announcements of the birth of Jesus. In other words, what do angels tell us but in Jesus the whole weight of God’s “divinity”, God’s perfections and excellences, has been revealed?Did God like that all the fulness resided in him?(Cl 1:19). In other words, is the Beauty of the Lord incarnate in Jesus?(Ps 27:4).
- Meditating for a moment on the beauty of Dios.
- La word “Beauty” is not a word we commonly use for the Lord.
- But we should use it more.
- The Hebrew word in Psalm 27.
- 4 carries the idea of how completely delicious and deeply desirable.
- God is.
- The fact is that God is the sum of all desirable qualities.
- Only in God do we find all moral and spiritual perfection.
- Do you find these excellences in impeccable proportions and harmony? All are in a delicate balance.
- Dazzling radiance and total integrity How is Jesus.
- The radiance of God’s glory and the exact expression of his being?(Heb 1.
- 3).
- He himself is quite excellent.
- Of exquisite splendor.
- Supreme goodness and radiant beauty.
- Praise God by saying “Glory to God at the highest peaks?”.
The angels you celebrated? Glory to God, they also celebrated the “peace of men”. In Jesus, full reconciliation with God has been made available to those he loves. Is God’s favor with you? His favor is with all those who receive and rest for salvation only in Jesus, as presented to us in the Gospel, including by angels. With the Apostles, angels in the birth of Christ could have told us to repent and believe in the gospel: “Who will accuse God’s eldes? Is it God who justifies them, Who will condemn them?(Romans 8,33-34).
Is your conscience restless and insecure before God? Again, with the apostles, the Christmas angels might have told us, “Justified, therefore, by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ; for whom we have also gained access, by faith, to this grace in which to stand firm; And we glorify ourselves in the hope of God’s glory?(Heb 4. 16).
By faith, fully look at the face of Jesus, our Savior, and God. You will find all moral excellence in impeccable proportions and delicate balance, all spiritual perfection in dazzling brilliance and total integrity. Under the authority of The Word of God, I assure you that you will see that Christ, the Prince of Peace, with the Father and the Spirit, is excellent, extraordinarily splendid, supremely loving and radiantly wonderful.
The Gospel Christmas ads speak of “Christmas according to angels. “In these announcements, we find? For all people, because they tell us about the person and work of Jesus and celebrate the glory of God and peace to men.
To conclude this three-part series, think with me for a moment about the joy of angels, there is more to their joy than our ordinary and daily joy.
Look, their joy is not in their own salvation, for angels will never know the joy of their own salvation; their joy is a joy in our salvation, a joy that has literally accumulated for millennia, since the beginning of time, from Genesis.
Yes, the angels who sang during the week of creation (Job 38:4-7)?Cherubs, seraphim, archangels and all other categories of angels? They were present at the birth of our first father Adam.
They were also there in the fall of Adam. In fact, he was one of his own, a cherub named Lucifer, who rebelled against God, took the form of a serpent and tested Adam to sin, bringing judgment over the entire human race.
They were also there as God drove sinners Adam, Eve, and the serpent out of the garden, these obedient angels took their guard points from the road to the tree of life and saw God drive out of man, his wife, and the serpent. garden.
They were there, in the tabernacle and in the temple, with their image woven into the furniture, as emblematic guardians of the Saint of Saints against the desecration of sinners.
Did you stay there? Hoping to see the triumph of God’s grace with the birth of the Savior, who would deliver his people from sin and death.
They were there in Belém, talking to Joseph, Mary and the shepherds, even today they speak to us as the Holy Spirit speaks to us through his word in the scriptures and are still looking to see the triumph of God’s grace in us. that we will receive and rest in Jesus only for salvation.
This Christmas, make sure you have learned and remembered what angels, messengers of heaven who are, told sinners about Jesus and his birth. This Christmas, be sure to share the joy of the angels, but share the knowledge that, by grace, by faith, Jesus saved you from the bondage of your sins.
