Racism is a sin against God, it is a sinful affront to the biblical teaching of God’s image in man and to the doctrine of Christian eschatological hope, which ensures that all men and women of all tribes, tongues and ethnicities, who place their faith in Christ, the lamb of God, will enjoy God’s shalom for eternity , in a sinless world.
Racism is an abject crime and I feel a lot of sadness and outrage every time I realize racist attitudes on the part of people or when a form of racism is evident in our society. Racism is a deadly wound to any society and I am. convinced that as Christians we must raise our voices against all forms of wickedness and injustice, and how can the Christian raise his voice?
- The best way for a Christian to raise his voice is.
- First.
- To hear the voice of Jesus Christ.
- Jesus calls sinners to faith and repentance and assures us that when we believe in him.
- We no longer distinguish between men.
- Because his disciples are known for their love (Jn 13:34.
- 35).
- The Apostle Paul.
- Addressing a stratified society in Colossus (Colossus 3:11).
- Reminds Christians of this place that when they believed in Christ.
- They were clothed in a new identity.
- Like those who created them.
- And there should be no more ethnic or inter-ethnic divisions.
- For they are all connected to Christ.
- That is why the heart-changing gospel is able to break down the silent barriers that separate people.
So the Christian’s first arena against the terrible sin of racism? And against all other sins, his own heart is first and foremost. The believer must examine himself and mortify all forms of sin he has in him, using the supreme pattern of the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Christian, called to love his neighbour, uses his voice in the context of his family, teaching his children, brothers and other family members the dignity of human life and our call to respect and love for others.
The Christian is called to be a role model in his context of life, expressing his love for others in his community, in his working environment and among those directly under his influence, demonstrating the fruit of the spirit that is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, fidelity, meekness and self-control (Gal 5:22, 23) and Moreover, the Christian builds and instructs others in the family of faith through discipleship, helping people to conform to the image and stature of Christ.
For centuries, the Christian faith has acted in this way, in the realm of individual and personal faith, forming a family called a church and bringing to light a world that is in evil.
Therefore, it is not necessary to join movements outside the Christian faith in order to affirm the value and dignity of the human person. Christianity is already this movement. A movement hated and persecuted throughout the world, but persevering in its message of redemption from our humanity through the work of God, who, as a human being, came to preach repentance, faith, and love.
It is through love that sin is overcome. It is through love that defeats racism.
