Verse of the day: I am crucified with Christ; therefore, it is no longer I who lives, but Christ lives in me; and this life that I now have in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me (Galatians 2: 19-20).
Why did God create the universe and why does He rule it the way He does? What does God do?
Jesus Christ is the supreme revelation of God; is God in human form. As such, it’s the end, not a means.
The manifestation of God’s glory is the meaning of the universe. This is what God does. The heavens and history of the world “proclaim the glory of God”.
However, Jesus Christ was sent to do something that needed to be done and came to make up for the fall. He came to save sinners from the inevitable destruction because of their sin. The redeemed will see, like, and show the glory of God with eternal joy.
Others will continue to despise the glory of God. Therefore, Jesus Christ is the means of what God wanted to accomplish by manifesting his glory to the delight of his people.
But when he was consumed on the cross, dying for sinners, Christ revealed par excellence the love and justice of the Father, which was the culmination of the revelation of God’s glory: the glory of his grace.
Therefore, at the very moment of his perfect act as a means of God’s plan, Jesus became the end of this plan; By dying in the place of sinners and being resurrected in their lives, it became the central and supreme revelation of God’s glory.
Therefore, the crucified Christ is the middle and end of God’s plan in the universe.
Without his work, this purpose of revealing the fulness of God’s glory for the great pleasure of God’s people would have taken place.
And by acting as a means, has it become the end?The one who will always be the center of our worship, as we spend eternity seeing and savoring more and more what He revealed from God when it became a curse for us.
Jesus is the end by which the universe was created and the means by which to enjoy this end.
