I was at my house reading the Bible and he said, Eureka! The Bible is a book about botany! But I’ll try to explain it to you soon, because you can consider me a strange person just by the title.
In the beginning God planted a garden and a garden is a place with trees! Of course yes! The story says that in this garden there were two important trees: the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. The couple that the Lord had created and put in the garden ate the fruit that God had commanded them not to eat. The consequence was devastating. This part of history was known to theologians as the Fall.
- At the heart of disobedience.
- Human beings have died spiritually.
- They have strayed from God.
- They also distanced therself from each other.
- I.
- E.
- Their relationship was no longer the same.
- They have also broken their relationships with the rest of nature; and human beings have broken off their relationships in themselves.
- We can’t control ourselves.
- We think of one thing and we do another.
- We try to get better and worse every day.
- We were separated from ourselves.
Expelled from the garden, the first couple could no longer approach the tree of life, this tree was reserved millennia later.
Later Noah, already after the flood, planted several trees that were misused by him, planted a vine and became intoxicated with his fruit (Genesis 9,20, 21), for this incident one of Noah’s sons, named Cam, Seeing his father’s nudity, Cam was cursed with all his descendants (Genesis 9:24-27).
When I continued to read, I realized that God had created a people for him from a man named Abraham; functioned as a kind of seed for a huge tree; the tree appeared in the form of a people, the Hebrews, later the Israelites. The Bible is a book about botany and trees, it gives these characteristics to Israel itself.
A Psalmist wrote that God brought a vine from Egypt; You hunted the heathen and planted them?(Salt 80. 8). This people who came out of the seed called Abraham is represented as a tree, like a vine planted by God Himself; God took it from a place and planted it in a better place.
This tree gave a lot of work to the good owner of the vineyard, he has thought several times about s leaving care of her, protecting her and fertilizing her, through one of his assistants, said in a poetically frustrated way:
My beloved has a vineyard on a fertile hill. And he surrounded it and cleaned it from the stones, planted fine vines; and he built a tower in the middle of it, and there he built a winepress; and he hoped to give good grapes, but he gave wild grapes. What else could be done to my vine that I couldn’t? (Is 5: 1,2,4).
After many attempts to treat the tree with love and all it meant, the vineyard owner achieved what he had promised. When the punishment was at its peak, the vineyard owner spoke again to one of the servants. Is it planted in the desert, on dry, thirsty land?(Ezekiel 19:13) The vineyard was in a desolate place, it was useless, it didn’t work, its end was near.
If the vineyard owner hadn’t always had a plan for this tree he loved so much, the whole Bible wouldn’t have made sense. There would be no hope for me or for you reading. Along with the words of punishment, the owner of this angry plant always showed signs of hope.
There was real hope for you and me. The plant was cut, it looked dead, but there was still a stump. He might be invisible to all the employees of the vineyard, but he was there and the vineyard owner knew it. all prepared. In his wrath, he cut the plant, but left something that only he could see.
Distrustful, I thought it was a new plant from the previous one, some of the wild vine was growing. Despite being a spark of hope, she was neither beautiful nor beautiful; didn’t attract attention, but this time it would work.
From the beginning I knew that the plant was Israel, whose seed was Abraham, but now who was that climbing plant? It wouldn’t make any sense since she never did anything right! But would the seed be the same? Then I had to conclude that, in this case, yes, after all, the root had not been torn off, only the tree had been cut off.
My brief reasoning was to think of other people who were going to show up, but that didn’t happen. The more I read the Bible, the more I see the same people, the same tree, the same sins, the same? All?. There I was led by the servants of the vineyard owner to a new reality, what if a single branch of the tree were perfect and gave the fruit expected by the owner of the vineyard?
To my surprise, the response was positive. This small plant of dry soil was the one that represented the whole plant, it was much smaller. As simple as anyone who saw him would mock him, in fact I would despise him.
She might be careless, but she’d be more blessed than all the other plants. This plant, true representative of all the villages, was born and also began to talk about plants. He spoke of mustard grains that saw large trees (Mt 13:31); He spoke of the fig trees whose owner was frustrated when he went to see if there was any fruit in it (Lr 13:6). From this real plant was born a new plant, this time stronger. He still has weaknesses, but he has a promesa. no be destroyed. The New Testament calls it the Church of Jesus. Did Jesus himself say that he was the true Cep, his Father?Who are we talking about so much?
Well, my Bible and I stayed together, and in the end I discovered that the perfect new plant, Jesus, has many branches that will remain there forever: your church. When we’re with him forever, there’ll be other plants, other trees. And the tree at the beginning of the story will be there too! This tree whose fruit our first parents left The tree of life will be there, in paradise, in the midst of God’s garden, as it has always been. (Ap 2. 7).
